An ode to the days of the mix tape.
Inspired by Ken Womack's high school and college days where mix tapes were currency and every song a memory, 'Mix Tape: Circa 1983' by Ken Womack captures all the great music from 1983.
About the artist
Houston-born and Dallas-based artist Ken Womack works with a variety of mediums to create pop-inspired artwork that comments on our collective compulsions, obsessions and infatuations. Womack creates engaging pieces with a twist and loves working with shiny, noisy materials - like reflective surfaces, flashing lights, neon, black light, gloss varnishes, and day-glow - to take his work over the top. He believes that artists have an obligation to share their gifts with the world because art has a transformative power to turn negative trends and thought-processes into joy.
