About Burl:
- What is veneer? Veneer is a thin slice of hardwood made by rotary cutting or slicing the actual log.
- Is it real wood? Yes! Slices of wood are bonded to a more stable substrate making them less susceptible to warping or splitting.
- What will mine look like? Our burl veneers are real wood that come from a unique tree so no two will be alike. Each slice is book matched by our artisans to best showcase the naturally occurring patterns in the wood.
- What about the coloring? This uniqueness of the veneer will affect how the stain applies. Your piece will not look exactly like our pictures online, but we think that's the beauty of burl!

- Use protection with liquids. Wipe spills immediately and do not allow liquid to collect on the surface.
