The Story
We love this larger-than-life pencil by Ken Womack!
This 6 foot Texas-sized pencil is cut from a fence post and finished in acrylic paint. The the shaved pencil tip, metallic details, and texture on this piece are truly incredible.
About the artist
Houston-born and Dallas-based artist Ken Womack works with a variety of mediums to create pop-inspired artwork that comments on our collective compulsions, obsessions and infatuations. Womack creates engaging pieces with a twist and loves working with shiny, noisy materials - like reflective surfaces, flashing lights, neon, black light, gloss varnishes, and day-glow - to take his work over the top. He believes that artists have an obligation to share their gifts with the world because art has a transformative power to turn negative trends and thought-processes into joy.
